ST. PETERSBURG, FL - March 13, 2009 - Taking a bite out of crime while helping kids learn to read is the mission of two Southwest Florida mothers. Brenda Zofrea, educator, author and child safety specialist has teamed up with Sally McCauley, of the McGruff Safe Kids Total ID System to offer a unique child safety and literacy program to schools, childcare providers and other youth and civic organizations. Both moms agree that knowledge is power especially when trying to keep children safe from sexual predators.
When McGruff's I.D. Program is presented in schools and childcare centers, the schools can earn free copies of LET'S B SAFE* for classroom libraries and a free all-school safety assembly on either predators, internet safety or bullying (you choose the topic). Plus a hand-shaking visit from McGruff, the crime dog - at no cost to the school district!
